Default Established Sites

What will happen if you create a domain that is a typo of an established website? What would be the case?

I don't think there'd be a case in this as there are a lot of webmasters using this tactic to gain some traffic and revenue.

I think it depends on how you do it. For instance, if you buy the domain just to redirect it with an affiliate link to the company site most will shut you down quick.

Also, now a lot of the domain parking companies won't let you target the keyword of the company whose typo you own.

I had a client that owned close to 400 of these typos using both scenarios and all of the domains were shut down with C&D letters.

I think it depends on the company itself. Some companies are really proactive in going after people that infringe on their company name. Just two weeks ago I saw a typo for facebook go for $15,000

My view is that depends on how you want to do.

I think it depends on the company...if it was eBay they'd shut you down.
