i dont believe anyone will tell you this for free. domains go thru a lengthy deletion period. PR is lost during this stage. Will take many many months maybe year or two for the links to come back to your site, but most will be removed by webmasters that keep track of their outbounds. even if they do return and a webmaster sees that he no longer links to the original intended site, your links may still be removed later. who knows, you may get lucky. the only reason i would say to go this route is if domain is name you are looking for any way. otherwise, get domain with good name and work on quality backlinks. i waited for 1 year for the links to start getting returned by Google and many of the old ones, were no longer active.

Best bet would be to hit up TDNam..You could also find some sites that offer expired domain lists that have PR checker..You'd be responsible for trying to catch them when they drop though.

But even if you manage to register the dropped domain name, the PR and backlinks would not be there in the long run, right? I am sure the change of surfer etc will effect these
