Default buying one domain and making money

I wonder if it would be possible to buy one domain and let it be your whole internet business. Could a person successfully make the domain into a hundred, a thousand, or even a million little websites on that domain.

Each would operate independently with its own design, affiliate programs, keywords and content. One would not necessarily have anything to do with the other. None would be linked together.

Does anyone have an opinion on this as a business model? It sure would save a ton of money on domain regs.

I have tested this before. It works because you can get the pages indexed and make money just the same as the individual sites.

But the thing I did not like and why I stopped doing it was everyone knows your business.

If you have a thousand mini sites and you go to the search engines and type in
site:domainname.com

they will see everything you own. With individual sites, they might only know the site in question. I found more people stealing my stuff by running it all on one domain.

So I finally started to break everything off and buy separate domains.

Oh, and the other thing - if you ever want to sell separate sites, you can;t with one domain.

Default one or 1000

I've been pondering this too. I own a couple thousand names and wondered if just a 100 or so would have been easier to manage. Go deep instead of wide.

If you have thousands of domains and wish to monetize them... you can do so with one host!... there is a script call DMM PLATINUM from DomainZaar.com it allows you to quickly create parking pages for your domains by entering a few keywords.

park all your domains on one hosting account and show different content for each one.

it has selling features too.

compatible with adsense, commission junction and more. and because you host it your self you keep 100% of your ad revenue.
