We all know that one of Google's factors in its algo is age. Do you think buying a pre-owned domain will help rank higher in search engines compared to registering a new one?

It could help you with your site as you could be avoiding the infamous Google sandbox theory which many new domains are subject to.

It depends too if that aged domain will be related to your coming project. Coz if not it might dropped.

I only just realized that age was even a factor. I guess in theory an older website should rank higher because old denotes authority sometimes but at the same time, how many times has the domain changed hands.

I used to think it was better to buy a pre-owned name but now I think I prefer to just build on my own newly registered.
