Default Directories Submission

Is this really effective? I have a huge list of around 6000 directories and I wanted to use them but I'm thinking I might just waste off my time.

It depends what kind of directories they are. If the directories have a good PR rating then go for it. But it sounds like these are search directories since you have so many and in that case I wouldn't bother

I think directory submissions, no matter what the PR of the directories are, is a good way to get higher rankings since they provide one way links.
