using free word press themes
There are so many free designs now for the word press blogs. A few of the considerations that I think are important when choosinga theme are :
1. do the files work
- when you install the theme to your blog and activate, make sure you check all pages and functions
- I have installed many themes to find out later that specific functions do not work and thus, had to start searching again
- not all people are the best coders so be selective
2. has the design been used a million times over
- see how many times the design has been downloaded
- try to find other sites with the same design
- you do not want your site to look like everyone else's
- even you really must take that theme, change the header and some colors making it a little more custom
3. does it have space for affiliate banners and monetizing the site
- if it is a lot of work for you to add your banners and advertising to the site, look for themes that have these sections already coded
